DreamWeaver is a 2004 Lagoon 440 catamaran
(named the Cruising World 2005 Charter Boat of the Year) with accommodations for three couples plus crew in four double cabins, each with private washroom. One or two others can be accommodated with the convertible salon table.
The newly designed flybridge seats six with an
unobstructed view of the sails and water. All sail and
engine controls lead to the helm, allowing for single
handed sailing. This also opens up the cockpit for
lounging and entertaining, protected by its solid
bimini covering and equipped with its own wet bar.
The open concept continues into the salon/galley
with sliding door and window pass through.
Eight can choose to dine in the salon with its
panorama of windows, or in the cockpit. The fully
equipped galley is accessible to both the salon
and cockpit.
Forward is the chart table which
contains a second complete set of instruments,
including GPS/radar/chartplotter and satellite
phone with email.
Back on deck, the forward cockpit is a comfortable
recessed seating area for underway or at anchor.
Other favorite perches are the bow pulpit seats
and the netting between the hulls.
Boarding is usually done in the back. The two
transoms also act as swim platforms or for
boarding the dinghy which is used to shuttle
back and forth to shore. The port transom has a hot and cold shower.
Just sailing this beauty is a dream in itself. As a catamaran, it sails fast
and flat, with no perceptible heeling. This yacht is spacious,
strong, quick and designed for the tropics.
And with electric winches and anchor windlass,
generator, air conditioning and other
amenities, DreamWeaver makes both sailing and
living aboard a breeze. |
